Hamas official in Jericho Shaker Amara called for a large-scale popular support at local regional and international levels of Palestinian detainees who have been going on an open hunger strike for 38 consecutive days in Israeli jails.
Amara highlighted in a statement on Wednesday that the hunger strike has entered a serious critical stage of challenge and struggle with Israeli Prison Service (IPS).
He stressed that the hunger strike must continue until the demands of the hunger striking captives are met.
The Hamas leader also warned of angry reactions by the Palestinian people leading to a comprehensive uprising in the West Bank and Occupied Jerusalem if the IPS went on with neglecting the prisoners’ open hunger strike.
