The Arab Parliament has urged the international community to intervene urgently to end the “inhumane” Israeli siege on Nablus province whose population has been suffering from harsh living conditions for about 11 days.

In a press release on Friday the Arab Parliament condemned the Israeli siege on Nablus as a “flagrant violation of international resolutions and norms.”

The legislative body of the Arab League underscored that the tragic conditions in Nablus entails immediate and decisive international action especially by the UN to pressure Israel to stop its human rights violations against Nablus residents.

It asked in particular the UN Human Rights Council and the Office of the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights to assume their responsibilities in this regard and intervene to put an end to Israel’s inhumane practices in Nablus.

It described Israeli siege on Nablus as “part of many violations being committed by Israel across the occupied Palestinian territories” especially its Judaization policy in Jerusalem its crimes against the Jerusalemites and its persistent desecration of the Aqsa Mosque.

The Parliament applauded the steadfastness of the Jerusalemites in their holy city stressing the need for supporting them and helping them defend themselves against Israeli crimes.
