Monday 19-December-2022

Asra Media Office revealed on Monday that cancer-stricken Palestinian prisoner Nasser Abu Hamid might die at any moment.

Hazim Hasanin the Asra spokesman underlined that Abu Hamid who is held in the Israeli Assaf Harofeh hospital is in a deep coma holding Israel responsible for his deteriorating health condition.

Hasanin called on the Palestinian youths to mobilize against the escalating Israeli crimes practiced against the Palestinian sick prisoners.

For its part the Palestinian Prisoners Society said that Abu Hamid was transferred from Ramleh prison clinic to Assaf Harofeh hospital after he had fallen into a deep coma.

The Ministry of Prisoners’ Affairs in Gaza called on the International Committee of the Red Cross to expedite a family visit for Abu Hamid after he fell into a deep coma.

Earlier on Sunday lawyer Karim Ajwa who visited Abu Hamid in Ramleh prison clinic said that Abu Hamid fell into a deep coma due to taking large doses of painkillers adding that he couldn’t speak or recognize him.

Since August 2021 Abu Hamid’s health has been severely deteriorating. He was later diagnosed with a cancerous tumor in his lungs and his health condition was further exacerbated due to the Israeli policy of medical neglect.

49-year-old Nasser Abu Hamid from the Al-Amari camp refugee camp who has been detained since 2002 is serving seven life imprisonment sentences plus 50 years.
