Member of Hamas’s political bureau Husam Badran has expressed his Movement’s support for the recent remarks that came in a letter wrote in captivity by Fatah leader Marwan al-Barghouthi.
In a statement Badran said that the spirit and contents of the letter were in accord with the historic role of Barghouthi as a noted national figure who made great efforts to form a comprehensive national vision with regard to unifying the Palestinian ranks and resisting the occupation.
The Hamas official added that Barghouthi’s remarks constituted an advanced position for achieving the Palestinian unity and removing all obstacles in its way.
Barghouthi has called in a letter he wrote on the occasion of the Palestinian Prisoner Day for upholding the Palestinian constants and utilizing all means including weapons to resist the occupation.
He also called for strengthening the national unity pooling the efforts to confront the US-backed deal of the century respecting the democratic values in the management of the political life in the Palestinian arena and launching a comprehensive national dialog involving Palestinians from all spectra.
