Dr. Najih Bakirat a researcher in the history of Jerusalem said the Israeli occupation authority (IOA) has allocated 15 million dollars to strengthen its Jewish narrative about the Occupied City of Jerusalem calling for introducing a Palestinian Arab and Muslim plan to confront the IOA conspiracies in the holy city.
Bakirat called for paying attention to the city of Jerusalem and making it the center of attention for Muslims in light of the IOA conspiracies against it stressing that the IOA is adopting a cunning and deceitful policy in the city.
The researcher in the history of Jerusalem said in an interview with the PIC that the IOA was disturbed with the Palestinian presence in the Old City of Jerusalem during the holy month of Ramadan explaining that the Muslim crowds who came for prayer gave the impression that Jerusalem will remain the capital of the Palestinians with al-Aqsa Mosque being the focus of their attention. He added “We have seen a growing concern on the part of Muslims worldwide to head to al-Aqsa especially from Malaysia Turkey South Africa and Britain.”
Judaization program
Bakirat lauded the increasing awareness of the Arab and Muslim masses about the situation at al-Aqsa and the importance of supporting it.
He noted that Israel realized that all adopted measures were not satisfactory and thus increased the pace of its Judaization program.
He noted that the IOA has increased its presence in the vicinity of al-Aqsa where an Israeli governmental meeting took place and where a festival at the walls of the Mosque was organized. The IOA policemen attacked the worshipers during the month of Ramadan at al-Aqsa noting that it is still closing 80 toilets at the Gate of Guanmah and does not allow building new ones despite the arrival of 200000 worshipers during Ramadan.
He added “The occupation blocks the arrival of Palestinians from the West Bank to the holy site.”
He pointed out that the IOA allocated 15 million dollars to “correct the biblical narrative in the world” and that it promoted this narrative through its ambassadors in the world.
Bakirat wondered “Where is our Islamic narrative and where are our Palestinian Arab and Islamic ambassadors?”
He noted that it is true that UNESCO is passing resolutions that stress that Jerusalem is Arab and that it is under occupation but all these resolutions have become ink on paper while the occupation is being daily entrenched.
Sheikh Bakirat pointed out that “The Israeli narrative is based not only on misleading the world but also on getting the world to support this narrative” calling for refuting all attempts to forge history and the real situation and to win international support to our narrative being the narrative of the oppressed and the owner of the right narrative. “We want real support not support on paper” he continued.
He concluded “We Palestinians manage a crisis and don’t solve it. We have a Palestinian communication problem with Jerusalem and we communicate with the city only during the month of Ramadan as if Jerusalem does not concern us.”
He added “Where are the Palestinian people and why don’t they go to al-Aqsa except during the month of Ramadan and do not care about al-Aqsa during other months?”
