Sheikh Najeh Bakirat head of the Aqsa Academy for Science and Heritage has accused the Israeli occupation government of waging a systematic war on the Palestinian education sector in Jerusalem and planning to impose its control over Palestinian schools.
“The occupation is trying to impose an educational system that is hostile to the Palestinian beliefs and identity and targets all the educational stages school students go through from the first grade to the twelfth grade” Sheikh Bakirat said in a press release on Thursday.
Sheikh Bakirat also warned of the “Bagrut” system that the occupation state seeks to enforce on Palestinian students affirming that this system is based on “intellectual Judaization” and forces students to abandon their values and morals and recognize the Hebrew state as the owner of the identity and land.
“The Israeli occupation has drawn up a plan to end the Palestinian education system in Jerusalem by 2030 but we will resist the Zionist curriculum and will never accept it” he said.
