Hamas’s representative in Lebanon Ali Baraka met Tuesday the Turkish ambassador to Lebanon Çağatay Erciyes in the Turkish Embassy in Beirut.
The two parties discussed during the meeting the latest Palestinian developments and the Palestinian refugees’ humanitarian situation in Lebanon in addition to the Israeli escalated violations in al-Aqsa Mosque.
Baraka expressed his good wishes on the occasion of the Turkish National day hailing Turkey’s continued support for the Palestinian people and their just cause.
He called on the Turkish government to intervene in coordination with the United Nations and the Organization of Islamic Cooperation in order to stop Israeli excavations under al-Aqsa Mosque and to protect the holy shrine from Israeli systematic Judaization schemes.
On the other hand the two parties tackled the Palestinian ongoing efforts to achieve national reconciliation stressing the need to end the internal division.
Baraka also stressed the importance of maintaining stability in Palestinian refugee camps in Lebanon in coordination with Palestinian factions and Lebanese authorities.
He also called for more pressures on UNRWA in order to cancel its recent decision to reduce its relief services for Palestinian refugees.
For his part the Turkish ambassador stressed his country’s total support for the Palestinian people and their legitimate rights.
