Member of Hamas’s political bureau Salah al-Bardawil has described the Palestinian reconciliation as “a strategic decision to his Movement” which he said is determined to continue its efforts to the end to consolidate it.
Bardawil made his remarks during a political meeting held on Thursday by Hamas’s national relations department in Rafah area south of Gaza in the presence of dignitaries and officials from factions and civil society organizations.
He said that his Movement’s decision to end the national division was taken within a vision to rearrange the Palestinian house on national foundations and create a true political partnership.
The Hamas official also talked in detail about the Cairo reconciliation talks and the Egyptian efforts that led up to the signing of an agreement healing the national rift.
He also highlighted the upcoming comprehensive national meeting which the factions that had signed the 2011 reconciliation agreement would participate in Cairo stressing the importance of allowing other factions to take an active role in the Palestinian decision-making.
