Wednesday 12-April-2017

Member of Hamas’s political bureau Salah al-Bardawil has reiterated his Movement’s rejection of any discrimination between the Gaza Strip and the occupied West Bank.

Bardawil made his remarks in a news conference held following a meeting with officials from Palestinian factions in Gaza on Wednesday.

The Hamas official expressed his belief that the salary crisis was made up deliberately by the government ahead of the visit which president Mahmoud Abbas intends to make soon to Washington.

He affirmed that the meeting was held at the invitation of Hamas in order to clarify its vision to resolve different outstanding issues in Gaza especially the crises of electricity and salaries.

He said that Hamas wanted the political forces in Gaza to be witness to the suggested solutions and the party obstructing them in order to put an end to all existing disputes.

“We must as factions and wise people have a very strong position at this stage and not to offer new prices or underestimate the winning cards in our hands” Bardawil said

He stressed that Hamas welcomes any meetings with Fatah and other factions to resolve all contentious issues away from media wrangling pointing out that Hamas does not yield to any threat or extortion.

The official added that the government in Ramallah is always welcome to perform its duties fully in Gaza according to what was already agreed upon between the two sides calling on Abbas to issue an immediate decision in this regard.
