Palestinian prisoner Marwan al-Barghouthi senior Fatah official has expressed his appreciation for Egypt’s efforts to heal the rift in the Palestinian arena and pave the way for the national reconciliation and unity.
“We strongly welcome the Egyptian efforts that are aimed at ending the division and achieving the national reconciliation and have led the Palestinian government to visit the Gaza Strip to exercise its powers and assume its duties” Barghouthi stated in a letter leaked from inside the prison.
The Fatah official urged Fatah and Hamas to engage in an in-depth intensive and sincere dialog in order to honor all previous agreements and establish a new chapter of political partnership in the Palestine Liberation Organization (PLO) the national authority the government and other Palestinian institutions.
He also stressed the need for a comprehensive national dialog with the participation of all Palestinian factions national figures institutions to come up with a unified strategy to restore the prestige of the Palestinian people’s unity and national cause.
