Batesh slams PA for not ending its measures against Gaza

Wednesday 8-November-2017

Senior Islamic Jihad official Khaled al-Batesh has said that his Movement has reservations on the way the Palestinian government started to undertake its responsibilities in the Gaza Strip.

In an interview conducted with him by Palestine TV on Tuesday Batesh said that Palestinian Authority (PA) chief Mahmoud Abbas was supposed to have taken concrete steps as the government started to assume its responsibilities and remove his sanctions on Gaza.

The Islamic Jihad official accused the PA leadership of stalling with regard to taking a decision to revoke its punitive measures against Gaza.

He underlined that the government of Rami al-Hamdallah has to fulfill all its obligations towards the population in Gaza and not only impose its control over the border crossings.
