Egypt’s Minister of Awqaf Mohamed Gomaa said on Thursday that the Israeli extremists’ calls for demolishing the Dome of the Rock provoke the feelings of Muslims all over the world and reflect Israel’s abhorrent racism.
“Such racist acts which blatantly violate the Islamic holy sites require international intervention and decisive decisions to condemn and prosecute the Israeli crimes” Gomaa tweeted on Thursday.
The leader of Israeli extremist group Lehava Bentzi Gopstein on Tuesday called on Jewish settlers to take part in the annual so-called flag march later this month and for the demolition of the Dome of the Rock in the Aqsa Mosque in Occupied Jerusalem.
He had posted a photo on social media showing the Dome of the Rock beside a bulldozer. “We will come to demolish the Dome of the Rock” was the caption.
