The Palestinian Commission of Detainees’ and Ex-Detainees’ Affairs has sounded the alarm over the serious health condition of cancer-stricken prisoner Muwafaq Arouk who has been in Barzilai Hospital for 13 days.
According to the Commission prisoner Arouk underwent surgery to remove a cancerous tumor in the intestine about two weeks ago and since then he has been under constant anesthesia taking only fluids and analgesics.
The Commission said it submitted an official request to the Israeli occupation authority to allow it to visit Arouk in hospital.
Arouk a 77-year-old from the 1984 occupied lands has been in jail since 2003 serving 30 years.
There are about 10 patients in Israeli jails suffering from different types of cancer.
