Israel’s so-called Ministerial Committee for Legislation is set to vote on Sunday on a bill to impose Israeli sovereignty over the West Bank settlements.
The government will present the bill which is aimed at applying Israeli law to the West Bank settlements to the Committee through the Ministry of Public Security.
Israeli Minister of Public Security Gilad Erdan said that the bill should be enforced in all West Bank areas including the Palestinian ones and called for the restrictions imposed on the entry of illegal immigrants into Israel to include the West Bank.
Israel is also seeking to annex Ma’ale Adumim within the framework of “Greater Jerusalem” project under which the settlement will be expanded at the expense of more Palestinian lands.
Led by Israel’s Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu Likud party had earlier voted in favor of a draft resolution to impose Israeli sovereignty over all settlements in the occupied West Bank.
