Palestinian civilians activists and NGOs vowed to remain on guard to Israel’s schemes of ethnic cleansing in the Bedouin village of Khan al-Ahmar threatened with demolition by the Israeli occupation government.
Head of the anti-settlement committee Minister Walid Assaf said at a press release held on Monday and attended by the local village council Eid Abu Khamis that the Palestinians will do whatever it takes to protect their village.
Assaf said the Palestinians of Khan al-Ahmar firmly reject all attempts to force them out of their homes and lands.
“Our people will stand firm in the face of the Israeli bulldozers. We are committed to protect our land and establish our independent state no matter the price we have to pay” he stated.
He added that the Palestinians have been rallying for the 6th month running in Khan al-Ahmar saying the ongoing protests have drawn the world’s attention to Palestinians’ legitimate struggle in the face of the Israeli crimes against innocent civilians in the West Bank and Gaza.
He expressed hope that the International Criminal Court would live up to its promises and prosecute Israel for its war crimes and violations of international law.
At the same time head of the local village council Abu Khamis said the locals refute any negotiations with the Israeli occupation reiterating Palestinians’ commitment to their land in Khan al-Ahmar.
The statements were released in response to the threats made one day earlier by the Israeli prime minister Benjamin Netanyahu to evacuate the locals and demolish the village “very soon”.
