Friday 10-July-2020

Dozens of Palestinian citizens were injured on Friday when Israeli occupation forces (IOF) violently quelled peaceful protests against the settlement and annexation in different West Bank areas.

Local sources said that a Palestinian citizen was arrested and five others injured when the IOF attacked a demonstration against the annexation in Asira ash-Shamaliya village north of Nablus.

They added that the IOF showered the peaceful protesters with stun grenades and tear gas canisters and brutally assaulted one of them before arresting him.

In Qalqilya dozens of Palestinian citizens suffered breathing difficulties as a result of inhaling tear gas during the IOF quelling of the weekly demonstration in Kafr Qaddum village.

All of them were treated in the field according to Palestinian activist Murad Shtewi.

Meanwhile violent confrontations broke out in Kifl Hares village in Salfit following the funeral of Palestinian martyr Ibrahim Abu Ya’coub who was murdered by the IOF on Thursday night.

A number of Palestinians choked on tear gas and one citizen was injured by a rubber-coated metal bullet to the chest. Medical sources described his condition as “stable”.
