The Palestinian ministry of education has expressed its rejection of Israeli intents to Judaize school curriculums in east Jerusalem and impose them on the Palestinian students at the pretext of improving the quality of education.
In a press release on Sunday the ministry warned against the repercussions and dangers of this Israeli Judaization plan saying it reflected further the mentality of the occupation and its repressive and racist policies that violate all international laws and norms.
The ministry emphasized that it would employ all possible means to confront such Israeli plans and protect the national identity of education in Jerusalem.
It appealed to all concerned legal human rights and media institutions to expose Israel’s violations against the Palestinian educational sector in Jerusalem and make efforts to protect and defend the Palestinian educational process.
It also called for countering Israel’s attempts to change the Palestinian national identity in the holy city.
The Israeli cabinet on Sunday approved a five-year plan to force Palestinian schools in east Jerusalem to switch from their curriculums to the Israeli ones as proposed by its education minister Naftali Bennett and Jerusalem affairs and heritage minister Zeev Elkin.
