An Egyptian security delegation arrived in the Gaza Strip on Monday afternoon through Beit Hanoun (Erez) crossing.

The delegation is set to meet with representatives of Hamas and other Palestinian factions for emergency talks.

The visit follows a week of tension and daily Israeli air raids on different areas of the Gaza Strip.

The Israeli army claims these attacks came in response to fire balloons launched from the besieged enclave towards adjacent Israeli settlements.

An Egyptian security delegation on Friday arrived in the Gaza Strip through Beit Hanoun (Erez) crossing.

The PIC reporter said that a high-level delegation from Egypt lead by Major General Ayman Badi’ and Ahmad Abdul-Khaleq entered Gaza on Friday afternoon.

The delegation is set to meet with Hamas leaders and officials from other Palestinian factions to discuss issues of mutual interest.

The delegation had visited Ramallah on Thursday met with Majed Faraj the head of the Palestinian Authority’s General Intelligence Service and discussed several files.

The Palestinian reconciliation and the financial crisis of the Palestinian Authority were the major issues discussed during the Ramallah meeting sources reported.

An Egyptian security delegation on Wednesday afternoon arrived in the Gaza Strip via Beit Hanoun (Erez) crossing and met with Palestinian officials.

The PIC reporter said that the delegation was led by Major General Ahmad Abdulkhaliq a member of the Egyptian Intelligence Service who is in charge of the Palestinian issue.

Hamas said in a press statement said that the Egyptian delegation met with senior Hamas officials including the head of Hamas’s Political Bureau Ismail Haneyya and Hamas’s chief in Gaza Yahya al-Sinwar.

Another meeting was held at al-Sinwar’s office in the presence of representatives of other Palestinian factions.

This visit is the fourth in less than a month. Egypt-Gaza talks are mainly focused on the ceasefire agreement with Israel and the Palestinian reconciliation.

A delegation representing Egypt’s Intelligence Service arrived in the Gaza Strip on Tuesday afternoon via Beit Hanoun (Erez) crossing.

The PIC reporter said that the Egyptian delegation headed by Ahmad Abdulkhaliq was received by the director general of the Internal Security Forces in Gaza Tawfiq Abu Naim.

The visit is part of ongoing Egypt-brokered efforts to achieve reconciliation between Hamas and Fatah movements.

A security source exclusively told the PIC reporter that the Egyptian delegation will begin arrangements for another visit by the Egyptian Intelligence Minister Abbas Kamel who is set to meet with Hamas officials soon in Gaza.
