Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan on Tuesday sent a “reminder” to Israel’s Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu saying Hamas is not a terrorist organization.
“Reminder to Netanyahu: Hamas is not a terrorist organization and Palestinians are not terrorists. It is a resistance movement that defends the Palestinian homeland against an occupying power” Erdogan wrote on his official Twitter account.
“The world stands in solidarity with the people of Palestine against their oppressors” the Turkish president added.
Earlier on Tuesday Erdogan accused the Israeli PM of having the “blood of Palestinians on his hands” following indiscriminate killings by Israeli forces in the besieged Gaza Strip.
According to the Palestinian Health Ministry at least 63 Palestinian demonstrators have been killed by cross-border Israeli gunfire.
