Turkey’s president Recep Tayyip Erdogan on Friday voted for the Anadolu Agency Photos of the Year contest selecting an image of a Palestinian teenager who has become a symbol of protests against the US recognition of Jerusalem as capital of Israel.
Erdogan voted for a photo by Anadolu Agency photojournalist Wisam Hashlamoun in the news category showing Israeli occupations forces detaining Fawzi al-Junaidi a 16-year-old minor in the West Bank city of al-Khalil on December 7.
The boy was detained for participating in protests against the US President Donald Trump’s decision to recognize Jerusalem as the capital of Israel.
