A number of Palestinian ex-detainees and their families on Tuesday morning continued their sit-in for the third consecutive day outside the cabinet headquarters in Ramallah city to demand the government to backtrack on its decision to cut off their monthly payments.
At the behest of the US administration the Fatah-controlled Palestinian Authority government in Ramallah recently stopped paying monthly salaries to 277 prisoners and ex-detainees.
On Monday a similar protest sin-in was also staged outside the headquarters of the Palestinian commission of detainees’ and ex-detainees’ affairs in Ramallah.
Participants in the sit-in expressed hope that their protest could receive widespread media coverage in order to highlight their issue.
