“Freedom is Their Remedy” campaign in support of hunger strikers

Palestinian activists journalists and bloggers have embarked on a so-called “Freedom is their Remedy” campaign to speak up for Palestinian and Jordanian hunger strikers in Israeli jails.

Speaking with PIC coordinator for the campaign Sara Sweilam said the move aims to mobilize solidarity with the hunger strikers who have been enduring abject conditions in Israeli lock-ups.

Sweilam added that the campaign is expected to kick off on social media networks starting 10 a.m. on Wednesday March 15 and will last for three days.

The campaign launched via the “May and Malh” (Salt and Water) hashtag also aims to expose the Israeli crimes against the Palestinian and Jordanian detainees and hunger strikers namely journalist Mohamed al-Qeiq among others.

The campaign managers stressed the need for serious action so as to bring the Israeli crimes to a halt and force the Israeli occupation authorities to cease administrative detention policies torture tactics solitary confinement visit-bans and arbitrary sentences against the Palestinian detainees.
