Gaza: Fishermen resume work after 13-day hiatus

Thursday 6-April-2017

The Palestinian ministry of interior and national security in Gaza allowed fishermen on Thursday to resume their fishing activities at sea after a 13-day coastal closure.

The closure had been imposed following the assassination of Mazen Fuqaha a commander of al-Qassam Brigades of Hamas in front of his house in Gaza.

Chief of the fishermen Nizar Ayyash told the Palestinian Information Center (PIC) that the interior ministry told him that fishermen could resume work on Thursday starting at nine o’clock in the morning.

The interior ministry closed all the land and sea borders in Gaza after unknown gunmen killed Fuqaha on March 26.
