The Palestinian interior ministry in the Gaza Strip has categorically denied its security forces recently arrested citizens affiliated with the Fatah Movement.
“We are surprised by the fabrications made by Fatah and its spokespersons about arresting its members in Gaza” spokesman for the ministry Iyad al-Bazam stated in a press release on Monday.
Bazam affirmed that no one from Fatah had been arrested or jailed adding that 38 citizens from different areas of Gaza was only summoned for interviews by the police as part of ongoing security measures to maintain order and clam in the Strip.
A spokesman for Fatah claimed that the security apparatuses in Gaza had arrested since Sunday evening over 500 Fatah officials and members.
