The Palestinian ministry of interior and national security in Gaza on Thursday executed three citizens convicted of spying for and collaborating with the Israeli occupation.
“Based on our Sharia and true religion and pursuant to the provisions of the Palestinian law and out of keenness on achieving justice for the homeland and its citizens and maintaining societal security the death penalty by hanging was carried out today Thursday morning April 6 against three collaborators with the occupation” the ministry stated in a press release.
The ministry stated that the permanent military court sentenced them to death by hanging and its verdict was sanctioned by other competent courts after they were indicted by the military prosecutor for treason and espionage.
The ministry also said that the convicts were executed in the presence of concerned officials and dignitaries after they exercised their right to defend themselves and exhausted their appeals.
The executed men aged 55 42 and 31 were only mentioned in the ministry’s statement by their initials.
