Al-Mizan Center for Human Rights said that the Israeli occupation authority (IOA) had transferred last Sunday the body of the slain child Emad Shahin from Soroka Hospital to Abu Kabir Forensic Institute.
The family of 17-year-old Shahin filed a request through al-Mizan Center asking the IOA to hand it over the body of its son who was shot dead a few days ago on the eastern border of Gaza.
Lawyer Mervat Nahhal said that the Center submitted a request to the Israeli legal advisor and the military prosecution to give the child’s body to his family adding that the center has yet to receive a reply from the Israeli side.
Emad Shahin was seriously injured by Israeli gunfire last Saturday during his presence in a border area east of al-Maghazi refugee camp in central Gaza where an Israeli military helicopter evacuated him to Soroka hospital in Beersheba but later on Sunday he succumbed to his injury.
