A general strike was declared on Saturday in Jenin refugee camp in mourning for martyr Amjad al-Fayed who was killed by the Israeli occupation forces (IOF) at an early hour today.
The general strike has taken place amid growing Palestinian calls for avenging Jenin martyrs and responding to daily IOF raids that target Palestinian resistance fighters and citizens from Jenin and its refugee camp.
Earlier the Palestinian health ministry announced the martyrdom of 17-year-old Amjad al-Fayed and the injury of another 18-year-old teenager whose condition was described as critical.
The two were injured at dawn Saturday when the IOF stormed Jenin City and its refugee camp.
According to local sources the IOF fired live ammunition during skirmishes with local youths in Haifa street in Jenin killing one and critically injuring another.
Later in the morning a massive rally began in front of Jenin’s Ibn Sina Hospital with mourners carrying Fayed’s body over their shoulders and roaming the city’s streets chanting slogans against the occupation and calling for revenge.
