A general strike was observed in Bethlehem on Saturday morning in mourning over the death of 14-year-old Zeid Ghunaim by the Israeli occupation forces (IOF) on Friday evening.
The strike which lasts until 0100 pm came in response to a call by the factions coordination committee and covers all sectors except the health sector.
Ghunaim will be laid to rest following the noon prayer at the martyrs’ cemetery in the city.
The Palestinian ministry of health announced late Friday that Zeid was killed in al-Khader village in southern Bethlehem.
The ministry statement said that the child was hit with two bullets fired by IOF soldiers in his back and neck.
