Senior Hamas official Adnan Hamarsha who was released on Monday said that the administrative detainees suffer from harsh incarceration conditions in Israeli jails more than ever before.
In press remarks on Monday Hamarsha affirmed that Israeli officials blatantly state that the administrative detention of Palestinians is aimed at emptying the Palestinian arena of its influential figures.
Three months ago the number of administrative detainees was 350 but now their number exceeded 800 persons — most of them received extensions to previous administrative detention orders according to the Hamas official.
He expressed his belief that the Israeli occupation state pursues the policy of administrative detention in order to prevent Palestinian figures from having any influence at the Palestinian and regional levels.
