Hamas leveled heavy criticism at the Palestinian Authority (PA) President Mahmoud Abbas on Friday dubbing his Washington statements signs of his “ill-will” and “antagonism”.
Hamas spokesman Fawzi Barhoum said the threats launched by Abbas during his meeting with Arab diplomats in Washington are signs of his “inherent sadism.”
Barhoum slammed Abbas for turning his back on national reconciliation and inciting against the people of Gaza.
Barhoum expressed Hamas’s readiness to run for national elections on condition that they be carried out on a fair democratic and transparent basis.
Addressing Arab diplomats in Washington Abbas threatened to take “unprecedented and painful” steps allegedly in response to Hamas’s hindrance of national reconciliation.
“Reconciliation is no longer possible. If Hamas does not backtrack on what it did I will go back over all that I have been doing in Gaza” roared Abbas.
