Hamas: Bartering livelihood with political gains will fail

Tuesday 11-April-2017

The Islamic Resistance Movement Hamas said on Tuesday that bartering the livelihood of the Palestinian people in Gaza with political positions imposed by the Palestinian Authority (PA) before the expected meeting between the US president Donald Trump and the PA president Mahmoud Abbas is a failed attempt.

Salah al-Bardawil a member of the Hamas political bureau said in a statement commenting on the statements voiced by the PA government’s premier Rami Hamdallah about the PA salary cuts that Gaza cannot be blackmailed.

Bardawil affirmed that the deduction of 30% of the salaries of the PA employees in Gaza is a purely political decision by Abbas and has nothing to do with the financial crisis.

Hamdallah demanded Hamas Movement during the Council of Ministers meeting in Ramallah on Tuesday to accept the initiative proposed by the PA president as a condition to reverse the latest decision.
