Hamas and Islamic Jihad Movements condemned the Palestinian Authority’s (PA) campaign against members of both movements that included storming their homes and assaulting their families in the West Bank.
The Hamas’s spokesman Fawzi Barhoum said in a statement on Monday that the PA’s campaign is conducted by security coordination with Israeli authorities and in coincidence with an intensive Israeli campaign against Palestinians in the West Bank.
For his part leader of Islamic Jihad Movement Khaled al-Batesh charged the PA’s preventive security apparatus along with its commander Ziyad Hab al-Rih personally with responsibility for the consequences of the security campaign against members of his movement.
He also called on the PA’s President Mahmoud Abbas and Prime Minister Rami al-Hamdallah to release Islamic Jihad prisoners and to put an end to the violent practices of the PA’s preventive security apparatus which affect Palestinian national relations he said.
