Hamas: Israeli demolition of prisoners’ homes “state terrorism”

Tuesday 26-July-2022

The Hamas Movement has condemned the Israeli demolition of two homes belonging to the families of prisoners Youssef Assi and Yehya Mar’ie on Tuesday morning in western Salfit describing the measure as “state terrorism and mass punishment.”

In a press release on Tuesday Hamas said that such Israeli practices would never weaken the resolve of the Palestinian people and their resistance affirming that what was destroyed by the occupation state would be rebuilt.

The Movement applauded the steadfastness of its people in Qarawat Bani Hassan village and the young men who clashed with the Israeli occupation forces during the demolition raid calling for more confrontations with the IOF and Jewish settlers across the occupied territories.

“The heroic Ariel settlement operation which was carried out by the two brave prisoners was part of a series of retaliatory operations against the exposure of the Aqsa Mosque to desecration and aggression” Hamas said.

It stressed that the Palestinian people would continue to protect their Aqsa Mosque and land regardless of the sacrifices.

The Israeli occupation army demolished two homes on Tuesday morning belonging to the families of prisoners Assi and Mar’ie in Qarawat Bani Hassan village.

The prisoners had been arrested in late April on a charge of killing a security guard at the entrance of Ariel settlement in the West Bank.

Al-Qassam Brigades of Hamas claimed responsibility for the operation at the time and described it as a natural response to the Israeli occupation police’s aggressive practices at the Aqsa Mosque.
