Hamas spokesman Fawzi Barhoum has said that Israel’s claims about discovering a cross-border tunnel in the north of the Gaza Strip is aimed at covering up the crimes that were committed by its army in Gaza recently.
In press remarks on Monday spokesman Barhoum also accused the Israeli occupation government of trying “to market fake achievements and victories for the Israeli society to use them in the coming electoral bazaar.”
The spokesman said however that the Palestinian resistance has the right to use different ways and means to enhance and develop its capabilities in order to be able to face the enemy and respond to its crimes.
The Israeli occupation army claimed on Monday that it detonated recently a tunnel belonging to al-Qassam Brigades of Hamas on the border in northern Gaza.
The army added that the tunnel which had two branches and crossed into the Israeli side of the border did not pose any danger to Israeli communities near the border thanks to the high-tech underground wall that protect them.
