Hamas: Lieberman’s incitement will not affect the Movement

Saturday 10-June-2017

The Islamic Resistance Movement Hamas said on Friday that the incitement waged by the Israeli minister of war Avigdor Lieberman against the Movement “will not affect its strength”.

This statement was voiced in the Movement’s comment on Hebrew media reports talking about Lieberman’s call on the US to work to expel Hamas leaders from Lebanon.

“The Israeli incitement against Hamas will not affect its strength” Hamas spokesman Sami Abu Zuhri said on Twitter.

The Hebrew newspaper Yediot Ahronot reported that a meeting was held on Friday between Lieberman and the US ambassador to the United Nations Nikki Haley in Jerusalem and it addressed the residency of a number of Hamas leaders in Lebanon.

The paper added that Lieberman asked the US to pressure the Lebanese government to expel three Hamas leaders from its territories under the pretext that they “work against Israel”.

The leaders include a senior figure in Hamas named Saleh al-Arouri who was banished from the Palestinian territories and accused by Israel of planning many resistance operations.
