The Islamic Resistance Movement Hamas said on Sunday that the Palestinian Authority (PA) security services arrested two university students and continued detaining dozens others on political grounds.
The Movement explained in a press release on Sunday that the PA security in Bethlehem city arrested Majd Shawawra and Ibrahim Deiriyeh from Palestine Ahliya University both of whom are former political detainees following an exhibition held by the Islamic bloc.
It stated that the PA security apparatuses in Nablus city have been detaining the students Hammam Fattash a student in the Faculty of Engineering at al-Najah University and Said Bilal for 64 and 4 days respectively.
Hamas added that the Preventive Security Forces in Tubas city have been holding the ex-prisoner Abdul Rahman Shuqeir for the fifth day in a row after summoning him.
In the same context the political detainee Ata Nakhla from Jalazon refugee camp has been on hunger strike in the prisons of the Palestinian Intelligence in Ramallah city for the fifth day since his detention.
The family of Nakhla who is an ex-prisoner in Israeli jails held the PA responsible for his life especially that he is suffering from chronic diseases such as hypertension and diabetes.
Meanwhile the Palestinian Intelligence in Jericho city continues detaining journalist Sami al-Saei who is from Tulkarem city on charges of inciting sectarian strife despite presence of a court order stipulating his release.
Al-Saei’s mother said after she visited him on Saturday that her son who has been detained for 18 days now was not able to walk as a result of being severely tortured.
