The Hamas Movement said on Sunday that subjecting the Palestinian prisoners who escaped an Israeli prison to an unfair trial will not amend the shaky image of Israel and will not weaken the prisoners’ determination.
“The Palestinian prisoners will not be weakened by the sentence issued against them” the Movement said in a press statement adding that the Palestinian people will continue to unite in support of resistance and its heroes.
Earlier on Sunday the Israeli court in Nazareth sentenced the six Palestinian prisoners who escaped from Gilboa prison last September to five years of imprisonment to be added to their original sentences. Three of them are serving life sentences.
The court also slapped the six prisoners with a fine of 5000 shekels for tunneling out one of Israel’s most secure jails according to the Asra Media Office.
For his part the lawyer of the Commission of Detainees and Ex-Detainees Affairs said that the Commission will issue an appeal against the decision of the Israeli court’s sentence imposed on the six Palestinian prisoners.
