On the anniversary of the UN Partition Resolution for Palestine Hamas has reiterated Palestinians’ firm rejection of the partition plan which it said violates the rules of justice and universal ethics.
On the 71st anniversary of the UN Partition Plan for Palestine the world has to pay attention to the suffering and injustice inflicted on the Palestinian people.
The UN member states voted on November 29 1947 on Resolution 181 which green-lighted the partition of Palestinian land to give way for the establishment of the Zionist entity at the expense of Palestinian rights.
“The Israeli occupation was granted legitimacy for violent usurping of Palestine in a blatant violation of the international law and the legal and moral principles of the United Nations” Hamas said in a statement.
“The annual observance of 29 November by the United Nations as the International Day of Solidarity with the Palestinian People is a political moral and legal admission of guilt by the international community over the catastrophe that has befallen the Palestinian people” it added.
“This painful anniversary has come again while the Israeli Occupation is committing massacres against the Palestinian people conducting raids and arrest campaigns demolishing Palestinian-owned homes judaizing Jerusalem desecrating holy sites on a daily basis confiscating Palestinian lands and expanding illegal settlements in the occupied West Bank the movement stated.
Hamas also referred to the crippling siege imposed by the Israeli occupation on the Gaza Strip since 2006 thus subjecting nearly two million people to collective punishment.
“In a bid to establish the self-proclaimed “Jewish state” on the land of occupied Palestine the Israeli occupation has endorsed the nation-state law and denied the Palestinians living in the 1948 occupied territories their rights as the native people of the land” Hamas statement further read.
According to the resistance movement Resolution 181 is null and void as it legitimizes the forcible occupation of other people’s land in a blatant violation of international laws.
Hamas announced its full support for the Palestinian masses who have been marching along Gaza’s borders vowing that the march will continue until the Israeli occupation meets the legitimate demands of the Palestinian people.
Hamas reiterated Palestinians’ rebuff of the US “deal of the century” which it said seeks to legitimize the Israeli occupation of Palestine and delegitimize the Palestinian cause.
It stressed Palestinians’ commitment to their right to resist the occupation through armed and unarmed means which is a legitimate right as per the international conventions and laws.
