Hamas spokesman Abdul-Latif al-Qanou has reiterated his Movement’s commitment to the inter-Palestinian reconciliation agreement signed in 2011 in Cairo.
In press remarks on Sunday Qanou affirmed that any efforts to implement the 2011 agreement without lifting the sanctions on Gaza and promoting the national partnership would be against the national consensus and the popular demands and would not succeed in achieving the reconciliation.
A high-level Hamas delegation led by Salah al-Arouri ended his meetings with Egyptian officials in Cairo on Friday after discussing several issues of mutual interest including the efforts to end the inter-Palestinian division.
