Hamas Movement renewed Wednesday its total rejection of any attempts of manipulation in the election regulations.
The Movement’s statements came following the PA government’s intention to backtrack on its commitments to respect the judicial institutions in overseeing the electoral process in Gaza and West Bank.
Spokesman for the Movement Sami Abu Zuhri said that the PA government has backtracked on its commitments towards the local election process.
Any attempts to modify the electoral regulations according to Fatah’s ambitions would certainly deepen the crisis he added.
On Oct. 5 the Palestinian supreme election committee decided to cancel the municipal election that was earlier scheduled to be held on October 8th and suspended all preparations for the process.
The decision came after the Palestinian cabinet’s decision to postpone the elections for four months.
