GAZA (PIC)– The Qassam Brigades the armed wing of the Hamas Movement on Thursday downed an Israeli reconnaissance plane in the first such operation and sent a videotape of the captured small plane to the media on Saturday.
The armed wing said that the plane was downed in one of the borders areas of the Gaza Strip with the 1948 occupied areas.
It said that the operation is a message to the “Zionist enemy” namely that the armed wing had accomplished one of its surprises which it had earlier promised the IOF.
Meanwhile IOF commanders expressed their growing concern of the ability of Palestinian home made missiles to reach farther areas inside the 1948 occupied lands.
They expected the range of those missiles to reach 16 kilometers which if fired from the Strip would reach Ashkelon city that groups a number of vital installations such as the oil refinery and gas factories.
