The Palestine Liberation Organization (PLO) has invited the Movements of Hamas and Islamic Jihad to attend its Central Council meeting slated for January 14 and 15 to discuss ways to respond to US and Israeli steps over Occupied Jerusalem.
In press remarks to al-Jazeera satellite channel PLO Executive Committee secretary-general Saeb Erekat said that chief of the Central Council Salim Zanoun invited the leaderships of Hamas and Islamic Jihad to the meeting expressing hope that the two Movements would accept the invitations.
“The situation before Trump’s decision cannot be the same after it. This is a new American stage in which they try to impose dictates. We will confront the US decision and work to undermine it as we have the international support we need” Erekat stated.
“The world agrees unanimously on the need to uphold international law and legitimacy find peaceful ways to solve problems and use the force of law and not the law of force” he added.
