Hamas calls for responding to settlers’ desecration of Holy Qur’an

Monday 10-October-2022

The Hamas Movement has called for responding to “the crime of burning copies of the Holy Qur’an” in the Old City of al-Khalil on Monday.

In a press release Hamas spokesman Abdul-Latif Qanu described the desecration of the Holy Qur’an by Jewish settlers as an “unprecedented escalation” and a “disrespectful racist behavior” stressing that such crime vindicated further that the Israeli occupation state and its settlers want “a religious war on Islam.”

Spokesman Qanu also warned that the Jewish religious holidays “have become a real threat to the Aqsa Mosque and involve attacks on the Palestinian people and their holy sites.”

Extremist Jewish settlers desecrated copies of the Holy Qur’an on Monday before throwing them in a garbage container in the Old City of al-Khalil.

Director of al-Khalil Awqaf authority Nidhal al-Ja’bari explained that settlers tore and burned copies of the Holy Qur’an and dumped them into a garbage container in a street near the Qaytoun Mosque and the Ibrahimi Mosque in the Old City.
