Hamas calls on Washington to end blind support to Israel

Tuesday 9-November-2021

Hamas Movement called on Monday on the US administration to reconsider its “outrageous pro-Israel stances” and to stop its blind support to the Israeli policies.

This came in a press release by Bassem Naim responsible for the international relations file in Hamas in response to the US vote against “The right of the Palestinian People to Self‑determination Resolution” at the UN General Assembly (UNGA).

Naim further called on Washington to stop covering up Israel’s ongoing crimes against the Palestinian people and to abide by the international law and UN resolutions.

He pointed out that the vote against the Palestinian self‑determination confirms the US’s Israel-bias.

He further said that the 158-6 vote in support of Palestinian statehood reflects the international consensus in favor of the inalienable Palestinian rights.

Last week the UNGA voted overwhelmingly to approve a draft resolution introduced on behalf of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) in favor of Palestinians’ self-determination.

Despite opposition by the US and Israel the proposal on Friday in the UNGA’s Third Committee was approved by a recorded vote of 158 in favor to 6 against with 10 abstentions.
