Political bureau chief of Hamas Ismail Haneyya extended on Sunday condolences to the Indonesian president and families who were affected by the earthquake-and-tsunami incident that struck Central Sulawesi province on Friday (Sept 28).
On behalf of the people of Palestine I extend my heartfelt sympathies to the families affected by the earthquakes and tsunami that struck Indonesia said Haneyya in his letter to the Indonesian President Joko Widodo.
“Our thoughts are with the people of Indonesia during this difficult period” added Haneyya.
In his letter Haneyya said he was deeply saddened to hear that the earthquake and tsunami inflicted massive destruction and damage on the Indonesian people and infrastructure.
He expressed hopes that Indonesia will make a quick and strong recovery from this unfortunate tragedy.
