Hamas declares a halt in responses to media and field provocations

GAZA (PIC)– The Hamas Movement on Saturday declared that it would unilaterally halt responding to all media and field provocations and called on its members to be cautious to foil the schemes of those plotting against unity of the Palestinian people.

Ismail Redwan the Hamas spokesman in the Strip said that his Movement would positively respond to PA premier Ismail Haneyya’s speech which he described as “responsible”.

He told a press conference in Gaza city on Saturday that all Hamas cadres and leaders would prepare the atmosphere for a national reconciliation expressing his Movement’s readiness to immediately resume dialogue with all factions to discuss formation of the national unity government.

For his part the PA information undersecretary Hassan Abu Hashish appreciated in a press release Haneyya’s initiative for national entente and for shunning internal media and armed clashes.

He urged all media institutions to heed the premier’s call and to spread a positive atmosphere.

A similar stand was voiced by the Palestinian scholars league which said in a statement that all factions in the Palestinian arena should positively respond to Haneyya’s call which reflected a high sense of national responsibility.
