Member of Hamas’s political bureau and head of its Arab and Islamic Relations Khalil al-Hayya met the speaker of the Iranian parliament Mohammad Ghalibaf on Thursday.
Khalil al-Hayya briefed Ghalibaf on latest developments of the Palestinian issue affirming that the Palestinian people protected the Al-Aqsa Mosque against Israeli desecration and will continue defending their holy sites at all costs.
For his part Ghalibaf welcomed the Hamas delegation led by al-Hayya and including Hamas leaders Osama Hamdan and Khaled Qaddoumi confirming that Iran and Palestine will always maintain a strong relationship.
“The founder of the Iranian revolution Imam Khomeini enacted the last Friday of Ramadan as the International Quds Day in a show of solidarity with Palestinians in Occupied Jerusalem” Ghalibaf said adding that supporting the Palestinian issue has always been a top priority for the Islamic Republic of Iran.
Both sides indicated the importance of the Palestinian national unity and the unity of the Ummah to confront its common enemy Israel and to hold it accountable for its crimes against international law and human rights. They also discussed ways to support resistance.
