A High-level delegation from the Hamas Movement on Tuesday met with Russian officials in Moscow as part of its current visit to the country.
In a brief statement the Movement said a senior Hamas delegation headed by its political bureau chairman Ismail Haneyya met with Leonid Slutsky chairman of the Russian State Duma Committee on International Affairs and Grigory Karasin chair of the Russian Federation Council Committee on Foreign Affairs in Moscow.
During the meeting the Palestinian issue and regional and international developments were discussed the statement added.
The Hamas delegation stressed the necessity of maintaining talks between the two sides on various matters of mutual concern reaffirming the importance of the strategic relationship between Hamas and Russia the statement concluded.
