A Hamas delegation on Monday met with the Iranian Foreign Minister Muhammad Javad Zarif in Tehran and affirmed turning over a new page in their bilateral relations.
The delegation included Hamas officials Ezzat al-Resheq Osama Hamdan Saleh al-Arouri and Zaher Jabarin.
Zarif reiterated that Palestine remained a top foreign policy priority for Iran adding that the Islamic republic valued its relationships with all Palestinian political factions in general and with Hamas in particular.
“We are ready to put aside all disagreements for the sake of supporting Palestine and the Palestinian people as well as the unity of Muslim world” Zarif said adding that Iran’s support for Palestine remained unchanged.
The Head of Hamas delegation Resheq meanwhile underlined that Hamas also valued its relationship with Iran as a Muslim country for whom the issue of Palestine remained a central cause.
Resheq said “Hamas believes that the Muslim world should be united and should put disputes aside and join forces against the joint enemy which is Israel.”
