A high-level delegation from the Hamas Movement led by its political bureau chief Ismail Haneyya on Saturday visited the Latin Monastery in the Gaza Strip and met with the Church clergy.
The delegation conveyed the Movement’s congratulations on the occasion of the Christmas holiday and hailed the strong brotherly relations between the Palestinian Christians and Muslims.
Addressing the Church officials Haneyya applauded the atmosphere of coexistence between the Palestinian Muslims and Christians.
He asserted his Movement’s full solidarity with the Palestinian Christians in their battle against the Israeli plots aimed at obliterating the Christian identity and religious history in Palestine especially in Jerusalem Nazareth and Bethlehem.
“The attempt to enact a law through the Israeli Knesset to seize the Christian mortmain property in many areas of Palestine are unacceptable and something we cannot let it go” the political chief of Hamas said.
